This shot, unlike Eliot’s body, would have to be called a work in progress. It will be a great shot with a little help from Dr Photoshop, but right now the arms are too dark and the background too light.
But I decided to post it because Eliot looks so great in it.
I’m reminded of one of my favourite stories from British politics. Back in the sixties, there was a gay MP called Tom Dryberg, who was remarkably uncloseted for the times, and reckless about the men he picked up. There were several near-scandals, but his friends managed to keep it all out of the press. Eventually, though, they decided to have what we know as an intervention. They persuaded Tom that he would really have to be more careful about his choice of men, because there would eventually be an almighty scandal that would end his career.
A few weeks later, a friend of Tom’s saw him eyeing up the bellboy in an Oxford hotel, and clearly about to pounce. Indignantly, the friend pulled him to one side. “I thought you were going to turn over a new leaf,” he said. ”And I will,” Tom replied. “Just as soon as I get to the bottom of this page.”
I’ll be back tomorrow.
